Spaceships Edinburgh Depot is located a 25 moment taxi ride from Edinburgh Airport and just a 5 min taxi ride from Cowdenbeath station only outside of Edinburgh.

Edinburgh is a great spot from which to explore Scotland by campervan. With exceptional roadway connections from our depot you can be inside Scottish Highlands in an hour or so.

If you are driving to the depot, keep the M90 motorway at junction 4 and drive into Kelty along Cocklaw Street. After about 400m turn left into Union Street. The Spaceships depot may be the second entry regarding the left.

If you should be arriving by public transport take the train to Cowdenbeath section and the amount 17 or 18 coach to Kelty. The coach will drop you by the chapel (ask the motorist if you're uncertain where you might get down). From the bus end stroll along Cocklaw Street to Union Street. The Spaceships campervan hire depot may be the 2nd entry on remaining.

Travel Advice - 10 Day Campervan Trip in Scotland

With ten times getaway to use up in March, I took into available road with my wife, Emma, and our trusty Spaceships Camper automobile called “Sputnik” and headed to explore the wild west coastline of Scotland.

Hiring the VW camper through the Edinburgh depot, our trip began around 11am by 1pm we were settling into our campsite regarding shores of Loch Lomond, simply north of Glasgow. The loch here is the biggest inland body of water in the UK. The city on Balloch on the south coast has many great amenities with motorboat trips available on the loch. We made a decision to go for a walk through Balloch Country Park to Balloch Castle and consume the views of the loch through the top of the mountain.

Back in the campervan we travelled within the west part of Loch Lomond towards Glencoe. From right here the scenery becomes undoubtedly spectacular with huge granite mountains towering all-around. Amazingly, the railroad range employs the road for a reasonable time before veering off to the backwoods across Rannoch Moor towards Fort William.

As we approached the beginning of Glencoe (glen is yet another term for area) we were treated for some amazing views. It was getting later therefore we found a campsite inside town of Glencoe and vowed to head back for a walk when you look at the glen a day later. The campsite in Glencoe ended up being perfectly situated regarding the shores of Loch Leven using the hills behind. After-dinner we ventured off to the Loch Leven Inn to test some local beers by a roaring log fire.
